My Walk Monday: The Love Walk
Monday, September 28, 2009
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13:34-35)
Jesus said in the Gospel of John, that we are to love one another as He loves us. God showed how much He loved us by sending His One and only Son as a sacrifice for all of our sins. What great love God has for us, yet, we in fact can not love one another.
To have God and Jesus Christ living inside of you, we are indeed direct reflections of them. As direct reflections we are to walk in love as God and Jesus walks in love. When we walk in love, we are in fact showing the world that we are indeed God's children. God is truly love.
I have learned that walking in love does not take that much. A simple smile can make another feel so much better. A "have a blessed day" could mean the difference of someone having a good or bad day. A "I love you" truly makes the world of difference, especially when someone is not expecting those words to come out of your mouth. Carrying someone's groceries for them or sending a "I was thinking about you" card, can turn a dark day into one that is bright.
You know they say it takes a lot more muscles to frown than it does to smile. Why don't you try smiling. When I smile I can feel my spirit lift up. I can feel joy and love in my soul. So, try it, go ahead and
I promise you will feel so much better.
I received a book of poems by Helen Steiner Rice entitled, "A Collection of Love Gifts." I pray you will read the words and allow them to sink deeply within your heart.
There's Sunshine in a Smile
by Helen Steiner Rice
Life is a mixture of sunshine and rain,
Laughter and pleasure, teardrops and pain,
All days can't be bright, but it's certainly true,
There was never a cloud the sun didn't shine through-
So just keep on smiling whatever betide you,
Secure in the knowledge God is always beside you,
And you'll find when you smile your day will be brighter
And all of your burdens will seem so much lighter-
For each time you smile you will find it is true
Somebody, somewhere will smile back at you,
And nothing on earth can make life more worthwhile
Than the sunshine and warmth of a beautiful smile.
Smile, Jesus loves you and guess what? I DO TOO.
Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father's Son, will be with us in truth and love.

Tami, I love you too!
I started a blog on with a spiritual twist. I struggle with my faith. My first entry was a prayer, but some entries express hopelessness. Part of the struggle is truth found in odd places. What I am to believe? I was lied to as a youngster. Now, I want to trust God. But men widely interpret how God reveals himself. I then find myself going for perfection, but soon realize that's futile (often by someone else pointing it out to me). I think my latest entry expresses my struggle "in a nutshell."
I wish to remain anonymous, but invite you to read / review my blog at http://www.apleaforme.blogspot.com. Please leave me a comment (and a trail back to your blog). Let me know what you think. I hope to hear from you and your readers soon. Thanks for your blog!
A Child of God, oh how I can feel your pain. I will visit your blog and comment. I will share your story with my readers. Keep staying strong in your faith in God. Remember God is the only one who can help you. Much love to you my friend.
